If water is coming through your ceiling right now, call (437) 887-2805. AUK Roofers responds to emergency roof repair calls across the GTA within 2–4 hours, day or night. Tarp-and-secure visit is typically same-day; permanent repair is scheduled within 3–7 days once the source is confirmed by drone. We carry $2M liability and WSIB on every emergency crew member.
What counts as a roof emergency?
Anything letting water into your attic or living space, or anything threatening to in the next 24 hours. We respond to all of these as emergencies:
Active ceiling leak with visible water
Missing shingles or section of roof torn off in storm
Tree limb impact or full tree-fall damage
Ice dam pushing water back under shingles
Failed flat-roof membrane after heavy rain
Visible hail damage with granule loss in gutters
Lifted ridge cap or flashing exposing underlayment
Animal entry point causing water intrusion
What to do in the first 30 minutes
The damage from a roof leak is rarely the leak itself — it's the water sitting in drywall, insulation, and framing for hours afterward. Move fast on these in order:
Move furniture and electronics out of the drip zone
Place a bucket under the active drip — if ceiling is bulging, pierce the bulge with a screwdriver in the centre to release pooled water in a controlled stream
Take photos of every affected area for your insurance claim
Turn off the affected circuit if water is near electrical fixtures
Call AUK Roofers at (437) 887-2805 — describe the water source and home address
Do not climb on the roof yourself — wet shingles are slip hazards and most insurance policies exclude DIY-injury
How AUK Roofers handles emergency calls
Our emergency response is built around three steps: secure, document, repair. We don't quote until the leak is stopped — that's how we know homeowners aren't being pressured into decisions while water is still coming in.
Step 1 — Secure: Heavy-duty tarp installation over the affected area, sealed at the perimeter. Stops further water entry within hours.
Step 2 — Document: Once weather permits, full drone inspection captures the failure point and surrounding roof condition. You receive the photo file directly.
Step 3 — Repair: Written, line-item quote within 24 hours of inspection. Permanent repair scheduled within 3–7 days. Insurance-claim documentation provided on request.
Working with insurance — what we provide
Sudden storm, wind, hail, or impact damage is typically covered by standard Ontario homeowner policies. Gradual wear is not. The difference often comes down to documentation. Our drone inspection produces evidence that adjusters accept on first submission, which speeds up your claim significantly.
Date-stamped, geo-tagged drone photographs of damage
Written assessment naming the cause (wind, impact, hail, etc.)
Line-item replacement-cost estimate using current materials pricing
Direct communication with your adjuster on request
We do not work on contingency or chase claims — we provide the file, you submit
Emergency repair pricing across the GTA
Tarp-and-secure visits typically run $400–$650 depending on roof size and access. Permanent repair pricing depends on damage scope:
Small flashing or boot repair: $299–$650
Single-section shingle replacement after wind damage: $650–$1,500
Multi-slope storm damage: $1,500–$4,500
Major impact damage (tree fall): scoped after inspection, often insurance-funded
Common questions.
Direct answers, no filler.
How fast can you get to my house?
On-site within 2–4 hours of your call during business hours across the GTA, and same-day overnight in most cases for severe leaks. Storm events with high call volume may push response to 4–8 hours but you'll get a call back with an exact ETA.
Do you do tarping at night?
Yes during severe weather events when waiting until morning would cause major interior damage. Standard tarping is daylight-only for crew safety. Either way, we move fast.
Do I need to be home when you tarp?
Preferred but not required. We can tarp with verbal authorization and a contactable phone number. We'll send photos before and after the tarp goes on.
Will my insurance cover the emergency tarp?
Most Ontario homeowner policies cover emergency mitigation — keep the receipt and submit it with your claim. Failure to mitigate further damage can actually void coverage, so tarping promptly is the right move.
Can you do emergency repair on a flat roof?
Yes — we handle flat-roof membrane emergencies (modified bitumen, EPDM, TPO) across the GTA. Same response window, same documentation, same insurance-ready evidence.
What if the damage is from an old leak that finally broke through?
We'll document what we find honestly. If the failure is gradual wear rather than sudden damage, insurance likely won't cover it — but you still need it fixed. We'll quote the repair clearly so you can decide.
Do you charge extra for after-hours calls?
There is a modest after-hours surcharge for true overnight or weekend emergency dispatch — typically $150–$250 added to the tarp visit. We'll quote it before we roll out so there are no surprises.
Can you work directly with my insurance adjuster?
Yes if you authorize it. We provide the drone inspection file and our written assessment directly to your adjuster on request. We do not work on contingency or take a percentage of your claim.
